This Fire Mouth Favia is "WYSIWYG" - What you see is what you get - so this one is yours! This is grown on our farm and is a Dr. Mac Stash coral. We have a wide variety of corals all grown in our facility.
Favia corals are large-polyp stony (LPS) corals known for their encrusting or dome-shaped growth and distinctive “brain-like” appearance with closely packed corallites. They often display bold, contrasting colors—such as greens, reds, oranges, and purples with bright centers—which can create a striking patterned look in a reef aquarium. They’re considered hardy and adaptable, making them a good choice for aquarists of varying experience levels.
For care, Favia prefer moderate lighting and low to moderate water flow, which helps keep their fleshy polyps expanded without causing stress. They do best in stable water conditions (temperature ~76–80°F, salinity ~1.025, alkalinity 8–9 dKH, calcium 400–450 ppm, magnesium 1250–1350 ppm) and can tolerate a range of conditions if kept stable. They can be somewhat aggressive, extending sweeper tentacles at night, so give them space from neighboring corals. While they rely on photosynthesis, they benefit from occasional feeding of small meaty foods like mysis shrimp or reef blends to support growth and coloration.
