Showy and distinctive the Halimeda Pine cone is native to Caribbean reef flats and grows in sandy substrate among sea grass beds and among Halimeda forests. Resembling a pine cone it's root like structure resembles a bulb with several rhiziods that serve as anchors to allow it to attach to the seabed or rocks. This is a calcified macro algae that does great in tanks with higher calcium levels.
