GORGONIANS
Gorgonians are a group of soft corals known for their branching, tree-like structures and natural reef movement. They often display vibrant colors like purple, yellow, tan, or orange, with polyps that extend from their branches to create a soft, flowing appearance in the current. Unlike non-photosynthetic varieties, these gorgonians contain symbiotic zooxanthellae, allowing them to derive much of their energy from light, making them a more approachable and rewarding option for reef aquarists looking to add height, motion, and a natural reef aesthetic to their aquarium.

CARE GUIDE
Our Eco-Gorgonians are cultured at the source of collection and are photosynthetic and therefore very easy to keep. Photosynthetic gorgonians thrive under moderate to high lighting and moderate to strong, indirect water flow, which helps keep their branches clean and prevents algae or detritus from settling on their tissue. They require stable water parameters (temperature ~76–80°F, salinity ~1.025, alkalinity 8–9 dKH, calcium 400–450 ppm, magnesium 1250–1350 ppm) and benefit from good nutrient balance in the system. While they rely heavily on photosynthesis, occasional feedings of fine particulate foods or plankton can support growth and polyp extension. Place them in an area with enough space to grow and flow freely, and avoid low-flow zones where buildup can occur.
