Lime Polyp Pocillopora

Pocillopora corals are fast-growing small-polyp stony (SPS) corals known for their branching, bushy structure and distinctive wart-like polyps. They often display bright colors like green, pink, or brown and can quickly fill space in a reef aquarium when conditions are favorable. Their rapid growth and resilience make them a popular SPS choice, especially for aquarists looking for dynamic movement and structure in their tank.

For care, Pocillopora thrive under moderate to high lighting and moderate to strong, chaotic water flow, which helps prevent detritus buildup on their branches. They require stable water parameters (temperature ~76–80°F, salinity ~1.025, alkalinity 8–9 dKH, calcium 400–450 ppm, magnesium 1250–1350 ppm) and can be sensitive to sudden changes. While they rely mostly on photosynthesis, they may benefit from occasional feedings of fine particulate foods. Give them space to grow, as they can quickly expand and potentially shade or outcompete nearby corals.
