The Orange Storm Clownfish is a striking captive-bred designer form of the Ocellaris Clownfish, scientifically known as Amphiprion ocellaris. This variety combines brilliant orange coloration with dramatically expanded and irregular white Storm patterning, giving each fish a distinctive appearance.
Sea & Reef developed the Orange Storm line from Black Storm and bright orange Ocellaris Clownfish over multiple generations, ultimately producing the characteristic Storm pattern in an orange-and-white form. The variety was first released to hobbyists in 2018.
The pair pictured shows extensive white body coverage with bright orange coloration and contrasting black edging. Because the Storm pattern varies naturally among individuals, each pair has its own unique appearance.
This listing is for a captive-bred/tank-raised pair maintained at Pacific East Aquaculture in dedicated systems separate from our wild-collected fish. Our captive-bred and tank-raised saltwater fish are carefully observed and maintained under professional husbandry protocols prior to sale, without the routine conditioning and proactive treatment protocols used for wild-collected specimens.
Orange Storm Clownfish share the hardy, adaptable nature of standard Ocellaris Clownfish. They are relatively peaceful, reef compatible, readily accept prepared aquarium foods, and can thrive with or without a host anemone.

Aquarium Requirements:
Provide a stable, established saltwater aquarium with rockwork for shelter and adequate swimming space. A host anemone is not required for captive-bred Orange Storm Clownfish. Sea & Reef specifically notes that this variety thrives with or without an anemone.
Temperament:
Orange Storm Clownfish have essentially the same temperament as standard A. ocellaris. They are generally relatively peaceful, although an established pair may defend a preferred resting site, host, or spawning area.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef compatible. Orange Storm Clownfish are not coral predators and are well suited to reef aquariums.
Diet and Feeding:
Offer a varied omnivorous diet including high-quality marine pellets and flakes, mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, and other appropriately sized frozen or prepared foods. Sea & Reef reports that its captive-bred Orange Storms readily accept pellets, flakes, frozen mysis, and frozen brine shrimp.
Host Anemone:
A host anemone is optional. Wild Amphiprion ocellaris is naturally associated with Heteractis magnifica, Stichodactyla gigantea, and Stichodactyla mertensii.
