The Orange Storm Clownfish is a striking captive-bred designer variety of the Ocellaris Clownfish, scientifically known as Amphiprion ocellaris. It features vivid orange coloration combined with irregular white patterning that can vary greatly from one individual to another, giving each fish a distinctive appearance.
Orange Storm Clownfish were developed through selective breeding rather than hybridization. Sea & Reef Aquaculture created the strain by breeding Black Storm Clownfish with bright orange Ocellaris Clownfish over multiple generations, ultimately producing the characteristic Storm pattern in an orange-and-white form. The Orange Storm was first released to hobbyists in 2018.
This specimen is captive bred/tank raised and maintained at Pacific East Aquaculture in dedicated systems separate from our wild-collected fish. Our captive-bred and tank-raised saltwater fish are carefully observed and maintained under professional husbandry protocols prior to sale, without the routine conditioning and proactive treatment protocols used for wild-collected specimens.
Like other Ocellaris Clownfish, Orange Storms are generally hardy, adaptable, and well suited to reef aquariums. They do not require a host anemone to thrive, although they may accept one when available. Sea & Reef describes the Orange Storm as having essentially the same temperament and captive-care requirements as the standard Ocellaris Clownfish.

Aquarium Requirements:
Provide a stable, established marine aquarium with rockwork for shelter and open swimming space. A host anemone is not required for this captive-bred clownfish to remain healthy.
Temperament:
Orange Storm Clownfish are relatively peaceful compared with many clownfish species, although established adults and breeding pairs may defend a preferred territory or host.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef compatible. They normally leave corals and other sessile reef invertebrates alone and are well suited to reef aquariums.
Diet and Feeding:
Offer a varied omnivorous diet including high-quality marine pellets and flakes, mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, and other appropriately sized frozen or prepared marine foods. Sea & Reef reports that its captive-bred Orange Storms readily accept pellets, flakes, frozen mysis, and frozen brine shrimp.
Host Anemone:
A host anemone is optional. Wild Amphiprion ocellaris is naturally associated with several large sea anemones, including Heteractis magnifica, Stichodactyla gigantea, and Stichodactyla mertensii.
