The Black Storm Clownfish is a selectively bred designer form of the Ocellaris Clownfish, scientifically known as Amphiprion ocellaris. This variety is prized for its dramatic black-and-white coloration and highly irregular Storm patterning, which can vary considerably from one individual to another.
The pair pictured shows extensive contrasting black and white patterning, with each fish displaying its own unique arrangement of markings. That individual variation is one of the defining characteristics of Black Storm Clownfish and makes each pair visually distinctive.

As a designer form of Amphiprion ocellaris, Black Storm Clownfish share the hardy nature, reef compatibility, and adaptable aquarium behavior of standard Ocellaris Clownfish. They readily accept prepared foods and do not require a host anemone to thrive.

Black Storm Clownfish generally retain the relatively manageable temperament of Ocellaris Clownfish. An established pair may become territorial around a preferred resting site, spawning area, or host.
