While not as fast-growing as some LPS, they are hardy and well-suited for aquarists looking for a durable, visually unique centerpiece.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eFor care, \u003cstrong\u003emaze brain corals prefer moderate lighting and low to moderate, indirect water flow\u003c\/strong\u003e to keep debris from settling in their grooves without causing tissue recession. They thrive in stable water conditions (temperature ~76–80°F, salinity ~1.025, alkalinity 8–9 dKH, calcium 400–450 ppm, magnesium 1250–1350 ppm) and can tolerate a range of conditions once established, but do not respond well to sudden changes. Place them with some space from neighboring corals, as they can extend short sweeper tentacles at night.
