Sea Squirt

Styela plicata.
Size:Approximately 1.5-2 inches
Diet: Filter Feeder
Reef Safe: Yes

Dr. Mac's Comments:

Sea Squirts are interesting marine chordates and are adept filter feeders. They are called sea squirts because when they are threatened they squirt water from their openings. They filter planktons and bacteria from the water feeding on it as it filters.
