This WYSIWYG specimen displays a dramatic deep burgundy-red base with broad pale blue to blue-green radial bands extending across the disc. Bright orange accents appear between several of the radial bands, while numerous small pale blue-white spots provide additional contrast. A narrow fluorescent yellow-green rim outlines much of the outer edge, and the raised central mouth shows contrasting orange, yellow, lavender, and pale coloration. The combination of burgundy, icy blue-green, orange, and fluorescent green gives this specimen the distinctive regal appearance reflected in the “King's Crown” name. Discosoma mushrooms contain symbiotic zooxanthellae that provide much of their nutritional requirements through photosynthesis and may also capture small suspended foods. Avoid strong direct current, which can prevent full expansion or cause the mushroom to detach from its substrate. Place on stable lower to mid-level rockwork with room for expansion and future spreading. Maintain stable salinity, temperature, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, nitrate, and phosphate. Discosoma mushrooms obtain most of their energy through photosynthesis but may benefit from occasional very small meaty or planktonic foods. Acclimate gradually to stronger lighting and avoid abrupt changes in aquarium conditions.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2133/7655/files/king_s-crown-discosoma-mushroom-soft-premium-frag-pea-F-OC0434.jpg?v=1791239428
