They come in many varieties and can display striking combinations of greens, reds, purples, and neon accents, making them a popular centerpiece in reef aquariums. Chalices are generally considered moderately easy to care for, though some varieties can be more sensitive than others.

For care, Chalice corals prefer low to moderate lighting and low, gentle water flow, as too much light or flow can cause tissue recession or bleaching. They thrive in stable water conditions (temperature ~76–80°F, salinity ~1.025, alkalinity 8–9 dKH, calcium 400–450 ppm, magnesium 1250–1350 ppm) and do not tolerate rapid parameter swings well. Many chalices are quite aggressive and can extend long sweeper tentacles, so give them plenty of space from other corals. They benefit from occasional feeding of small meaty or particulate foods, especially at night when their feeding tentacles are extended, which can enhance growth and coloration.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2133/7655/files/wysiwyg-coral-frag-chalice-red-eye-marichino-cherry-aquacultured-pea-F-A27141.jpg?v=1777353522
